This past weekend, we completed a major project to expand the capacity of our SmartRail automated garment sorting system. Our overall throughput was increased by 33%. This was in response to the ever-increasing volume of uniforms flowing through our Green Bay facility. SmartRail is a patented, computer-controlled garment sorting system which is able to arrange garments in an exact specified sequence. It is controlled by a network of personal computers that automatically separate return-to-stock items and send garments to the mending area if they have been flagged for repair. This system then sorts garments into a desired order; delivery day, service route, customer account, employee and finally item. Our automated system helps ensures that those uniforms that are turned in for cleaning are returned to our customers on the following scheduled service day. We are also able to leverage this technology to provide our customers in Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, Wausau and throughout Wisconsin with detailed information about how effectively their uniform rental program is being managed.
